Why blend these fibers?
A perfect blend has a synergism to it. Each component has strengths that balance eachother out. Rambouillet is extremely soft, with a lot of spring to it and also really likes to cling to itself. Angora is even softer and silky, but it likes to fly away and has little elasticity on its own. Rambouillet has elasticity and cohesion that angora lacks, while angora has a lovely silkiness to it that perfectly compliments the Rambouillet. Together they unite to create an amazingly sensuous blend that’s a pleasure to feel glide through your fingers.
One of our goals is to find the highest quality fibers from across the world, and the angora we have is the best I’ve ever seen. Its extremely uniform and comes from humanely raised rabbits in Europe who care gently combed and clipped 4 times a year. Its carefully graded to ensure that only the best fiber is processed, which means the finished top lacks the high guard hair content of many angora tops. This means the halo it creates is even softer, since its made from softer fibers and not guard hairs. True luxury is only possible when you know the animals fiber comes from have been treated with kindness and respect.
