What’s special about this fiber?
Creating the perfect black dye can be very difficult, especially since some black dyes have a reputation for running. Black diamond bamboo is created through an innovative process. Instead of dyeing, the bamboo is made into a lovely black by carbonizing, or just applying heat. Not only is this an environmentally friendly process it also helps transform the bamboo so its easier to spin! Black diamond bamboo has a slight wave to it and more cohesion than its white progenitor and is a good introduction to spinning cellulose fibers.
